Built as a street-legal starting point for SCCA competition, the 2003 Club Sport strips the NB Miata to its essentials. Mazda deleted the air conditioning, stereo, power steering, and Windblocker, then fitted Bilstein dampers, a specially tuned suspension, a torque-sensing limited-slip differential, and the standard 142-hp VVT engine with a five-speed manual.

Only 50 were offered, all in Classic Red or Pure White, with buyers choosing either a soft top or a factory hardtop and no folding roof beneath it. The result is one of Mazda's most focused factory interpretations of the second-generation Miata: simple controls, serious chassis hardware, and nothing between the driver and the next corner.
