The Roadster Coupe answered one of the most irresistible MX-5 what-ifs with a real steel roof. Mazda Engineering and Technology finished the Japan-only cars by hand, adding just 10 kg while creating a sleeker, stiffer NB with its own 700000-series VINs. Only 179 were completed: 53 base 1.6-liter cars, 63 Type S models, 40 Type As, and 23 Type Es.
