Created to celebrate production of the 900,000th MX-5, the 2011 Special Edition wrapped the most luxurious NC Miata in a distinctly understated palette. Every example paired the 12-second Power Retractable Hard Top with Sparkling Black Mica or Dolphin Grey Mica paint, bright-finish 17-inch wheels, and an exclusive grey leather cabin accented by contrast stitching and polished trim.
Underneath was the familiar 2.0-liter MZR engine with a choice of six-speed manual or paddle-shift automatic. Manual cars added the enthusiast hardware that mattered most: Bilstein dampers, a sport-tuned suspension, and a torque-sensing limited-slip differential. With only 750 produced, it combined Grand Touring comfort with one of the rarest color and trim combinations of the NC generation.
